Vegan Shoes That Aren’t Bohemian

NEW SHOES, WHO DIS.

While I'm still holding onto some of the classic leather styles that I've had for years (read why here), I knew that if I was going to make this work I would have to think about expanding my shoe collection beyond the one vegan pair I currently owned.

Trying to find something that is vegan, chic and sustainable was proving to be a daunting task, but I managed to make it happen - twice! Thanks to the (sometimes unfortunate) athleisure movement it’s now acceptable to wear trainer-style shoes with pretty much anything, but I needed a dressier option as well.

I turned to my first love, Stella McCartney (I know her brand is a polarizing issue and I promise to talk about it at some point). Her shoe collection is not exactly subtle so I was surprised when I found beautiful, vegan black heeled boots at New Bond Street store. At first I was kicking myself for not buying her vegan Stan Smiths when they first came out, but then I discovered Veja Shoes and I love them. The white on white canvas is very versatile and they've proven to be my go-to for just about any outfit.

I've already discovered another brand that I'm really excited to share, but for now this is what I'm working with. If I keep this up I will have replaced most of my leather items in no time. 🙂
